BJP star campaigner Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma banned from campaigning in Assam for next 48 hours
Assam minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma from holding any public meetings, rallies, processions and media interviews for 48 hours For threatening remarks against Congress alliance partner Bodoland People’s Front‘s chief Hagrama Mohilary.
In its official notification, the EC said that Sarma’s reply to the show-cause notice, which was issued earlier, was “not found to be satisfactory”.
The third and final phase elections for 40 seats will be held on April 6. The votes will be counted on May 2.
