Manipur government extend curfew imposed in seven districts of the state until May 28

The Manipur government on Monday extends the curfew imposed in seven districts of the state until May 28 to check the unfold of the virus.

The state government authorities had clamped 24-hour curfew inside the 7 districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur, and Ukhrul from May eight until May 17 to fight the surge in COVID-19 instances.

An order issued by using the Home Department of Manipur stated, “the virulence of COVID-19 virus maintains unabated and the want for stringent measures to test bodily contact amongst humans nevertheless exists.”

However, the state government has allowed extra relaxations including allowing local vegetable companies from 7 am to 10 am on May 20, May 23, and May 26 with a strict statement of SOPs, even though vehicular moves during the period might be strictly prohibited, the order stated.

Banking and postal services may be allowed to feature on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 am to 2.30 pm for pressing transactions.
