Former MLA and former Chairman of Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council Obil Kyndait passed away Friday morning at his residence in Mihmyntdu, West Jaintia Hill.
The veteran politician served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in 1978, representing the then Rymbai constituency now known as Khliehriat.
His cremation will be held on Saturday at Mukhaialong in East Jaintia Hills.
