Assam lost a senior IPS Officer battle with cancer

Senior IPS officer Anurag Tankha of Assam cadre passes away today after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Anurag Tankha was last posted in Delhi.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his condolences over the death of the IPS officer.

I’m deeply saddened by the demise of distinguished senior IPS officer Anurag Tankha (Assam cadre) after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was on deputation to Bureau of Police Research and Development as IG.

He was serving Assam for a period of 19 years.
