Assam-Mizoram Border row: one vehicle of the Cachar Deputy Commissioner’s convoy damage

Fresh violence broke out at the disputed Assam-Mizoram border on Monday.

As per a report from at least seven Assam Police constables were reportedly injured when unidentified miscreants from neighbouring Mizoram fired at a police post in Assam’s Cachar district on Monday.

One vehicle of the Cachar Deputy Commissioner’s convoy was also damage.

The Chief Ministers of both states Mizoram Zoramthanga and Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma posted it on Twitter and tagged Union Home Minister Amit Shah in their posts.

Three Mizoram districts – Aizawl, Kolasib and Mamit – share a 164.6 km long inter-state border with Assam’s Barak Valley’s Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts.
