Deputy Chief Minister in charge and Health and Family Welfare Prestone Tynsong informed the media personal the decision was arrived at after receiving inputs from all the district administrations and requests made by concerned stakeholders.
As per the reports, the state has not even 50 percent of its population vaccinated.
On Monday, 187 new Covid cases were found in Meghalaya.
