Assam receives a grand welcome Boxer Lovlina Borgohain, CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a road in Guwahati will be named Olympics Bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain

Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist boxer Lovlina Borgohain receives a grand welcome in her home state Assam.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma received her at Guwahati Airport on Thursday.


CM Sarma tweet, ” With pride & glory, I welcomed our star Olympian medalist @LovlinaBorgohaiat Guwahati airport. Lovlina has ignited a billion dreams with her success in #TokyoOlympics2020 and set an example for budding sports talents in rural areas to aspire for achieving big at the world stage.

At 3 PM the Assam government has organized a grand felicitation programme at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on the same day in presence of several top dignitaries including Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and the first Assamese to win gold at an international event Bhogeswar Barua also present here.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also announced a road in Guwahati will be named Olympics Bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma offers the post of DSP to #Tokyo2020 bronze medalist boxer Lovlina Borgohain and a stadium will be constructed in her name in her home town Golaghat. Her all coach will be given Rs 10 Lakhs.
