Cattle Protection Bill 2021 Passed in Assam Assembly, opposition walkout before voting of this bill, BJP members shouted slogans ”Bharat Mata ki Jai” and ”Jai Shree Ram’after passed this bill

Assam Assembly passes Cattle Protection Bill 2021 on Friday.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has tabled this bill on Assam Assembly on Monday.

According to the bill no more sale of beef within 5 km of temples. The veterinarian will issue the certificate only if s/he is sure that the animal, not being a cow, is above 14 years of age.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the earlier Cattle Preservation Act of 1950 lacked sufficient legal provisions in order to regulate the consumption and transportation of cattle.

Main opposition Congress and AIUDF demanded to send the bill to a select committee. Finally, the opposition walkout before voting of this bill.

The ruling BJP members shouted slogans ”Bharat Mata ki Jai” and ”Jai Shree Ram” when Speaker Biswajit Daimary announced the Assam Cattle Preservation Bill, 2021 as passed.
