In a recent letter to CM Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, former MLA of North Karimganj wrote Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for resuming local train service in Barak Valley.
Das also wrote Local small traders and hawkers have been facing financial crises for maintaining their families.
According to the people of Hailakandi district before lockdown in March 2020, only one passenger train was running from Bhairobhi to Silchar. But now the train was not running due to Covid-19. People are facing lots of people especially patients who depend on Silchar.
