As part of Navy Day Celebrations at Kolkata, Indian Naval Ship Kirch a Guided Missile Corvette made a Port Call to Kolkata from 03-06 Dec 21. Owing to COVID-19 circumstances, the ship was “Open to Visitors” at Khidderpore Docks, KOPT on 04 and 05 Dec 21 in a restricted regime following stringent COVID Protocol measures.
INS Kirch is the second ship of the “Kora Class” of Missile Corvettes and is equipped with anti-ship as well as anti-air weapon systems. The Ship was indigenously designed and built by GRSE, Kolkata.
The ship was visited by the enthusiastic NCC Cadets as well as personnel and families of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, IAF, Coast Guard and officials from State and other Govt Agencies and School Children.
The visit to the Indian Naval ship stirred immense enthusiasm and motivated the future generation to recognise their own Navy. Visitors were given a guided tour of the ship and were briefed on the armament fit and life onboard.
