Veer Gatha is a unique project to inspire the young school children of our country with the stories of war heroes has elicited a tremendous response from all over the country More than 803978 children participated in this event held from 21. Oct 2021 to 20. Nov 2021 and shared their inspirational stories. The total entries selected for chosen 25 entries out of 803978 is 19142.
This is a unique initiative from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and CBSE to encourage the spirit of Nationalism, Bravery and perseverance towards our war heroes in run up to Republic Day Celebrations 2022.
The Competition was organized in four categories according to their class (Cat 1-3rd to 5.. Cat-2 — 6. to 8., Cat 3 — & 10., Cat 4 — & 12.). They were given themes It I had been (Name of the Gallantry Award Winner), what would I have done for my nation?” Or “Name of the Gallantry Award Winner motivates me to “. The students were given options to pen a poem/ essay / make a painting / Multimedia presentation about their chosen topic. During the course of the competition serving officers of the Armed Forces interacted with the school children via video conferencing and narrated the heroic acts of the winner of Paramvir Chakra / Mahavir Chakra. The process of selecting winning entries is 19142 out of which 25 winners each will receive Rs. 10,000 as cash prize and also get an opportunity to witness the majestic Republic Day Celebrations on 26 Jan 2022 at Rajpath as a valued guest of the Ministry of Defence.
Veer Gatha Project honours the acts of bravery and Sacrifice of the officer / personnel of the Armed Forces. other lawfully constituted forces and civilians, gallantry awards are announced twice in a year on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day .
This is a unique initiative of Ministry of Defence and CBSE to commemorate the 75th year of Indian Independence celebrations as Veer Gatha.
