BSF APPREHENDED 07 BANGLADESHI NATIONALS WHILE ILLEGALLY ENTERING INTO INDIAN TERRITORY

On 12th December, 2021, under South Bengal Frontier, troops of Border Out Post Jhinga, 118 Battalion apprehended 07 Bangladeshi nationals illegally crossing the International Border from the area of ​​District North 24 Parganas.

On 12th December, 2021, the troops of Border Out Post Jhinga, 118 Battalion, Sector Kolkata, conducted a special operation on the basis of credible information and apprehended 07 Bangladeshi nationals. All of them were trying to come to India illegally from Bangladesh. The apprehended Bangladeshi nationals include 4 men and 03 women.

The apprehended Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as 1. Jahangir Mollik, age 51 years, 2. Nanu Mulla, age 38 years, 3. Bilal Sheikh, age 31 years, 4. Sohan Sheikh, age 19 years, 5. Heena Begum, age 40 years, 6. Sumi Begum, age 20 years, 7. Samjida Begum, age 22 years. All of them are residents of District Narel and District Faridpur, Bangladesh.

During the initial interrogation, all have identified themselves as citizens of Bangladesh. All of them were coming to India from Bangladesh by illegally crossing the International Boundary in search of employment. Jahangir Molik told that he had come to India from Bangladesh illegally crossing the International Boundary with the help of a Bangladeshi tout about seven years ago and was working as a mason living in Babu Bazar, (Khidirpur) Kolkata. He told that about 1000 Bangladeshi citizens live illegally at that place and are engaged in labor work. Further he told that a few days back he had gone to Bangladesh and today was coming back to Babu Bazar, (Khidirpur) Kolkata. For this work he had given 10,000/- BD Taka to a Bangladeshi tout.

During interrogation, Nanu Mulla told that two years ago he had come to India from Bangladesh illegally crossing the border with the help of Bangladeshi tout and was doing labor work by going to Yelanka, (Bangalore) Karnataka. Today he was going back there with the help of touts. For this work he had given 4,000/- BD Taka to a Bangladeshi tout. He further told that there are about 100 Bangladeshi nationals living there illegally and doing labor work. During interrogation, Heena Begum told that she had come to Lalgola, Murshidabad, West Bengal 02 years ago to do labor work. Today she was coming back to India in search of employment with her three children and an maternal uncle’s girl, Samjida Begum. For this work he has paid Rs.10,000/- each to Sariful, village Gopalganj, District Faridpur, Bangladesh. He further told that 40 to 50 Bangladeshi nationals work in Lalgola, Murshidabad.

All the arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been handed over to Police Station Hemnagar Coastal for further legal action.

Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier stated in a statement that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent movement along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Further, he clearly stated that we will not allow infiltration from our area under any circumstances.
