BSF FREES RARE SPECIES OF BIRDS FROM THE CLUTCHES OF SMUGGLERS

On 12th December, 2021, at about 1830, under the South Bengal Frontier, on the basis of reliable information, troops of Border Out Post Bhatgachi, 82 Battalion, rescued 10 rare species of birds (Red Lord Amazon) from the clutches of smugglers. When the smugglers were chased, leaving the birds behind the smugglers fled by taking advantage of the thick darkness and bushes. The birds of this particular species were smuggled from Bangladesh to India.

The rare birds rescued from the clutches of smugglers have been handed over to the Forest Department, Ranaghat.

Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to check the smuggling of rare species of birds along the border. He expressed happiness over the achievements of the troops of the 82 Battalion. He said in clear words that we will not allow smuggling from our area under any circumstances.
