India and Bangladesh, two neighboring countries share cultural and social similarities and both countries have been displaying comradeship as true partners.
On 14th December, 2021 the Border Security Force is organizing a cycle rally along the Indo-Bangladesh Border to mark the 75th Independence Day of India and the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s Liberation War.
15 cyclists (10 men and 5 women) are participating in this cycle rally. This rally will complete its journey in 08 days. The rally has been started from Siliguri, Darjeeling and will travel up to ICP Petrapole, North 24 Parganas and will cover a distance of 550 km along the Indo-Bangladesh Border.
This cycle rally was flagged off from North Bengal Frontier, Kadmatala, Dronacharya Stadium. On the third day, this rally has covered a distance of about 250 Kms. Shri Sudhir Hooda, Deputy Inspector General, Sector Malda, Shri S B Mukherjee, Commandant (Administrative), Shri H S Bedi, Commandant, 44 Battalions, Shri Chandra Shekhar Giri, Deputy Commandant, General, Sector Malda gave a rousing welcome to the team. On the way people took many pictures of the rally and called it very interesting.
The purpose of this cycle rally is to create a sense of security among the people living on the border in India Bangladesh, to increase friendship between the Border Security Force and the Border Guard Bangladesh, to create awareness among the people living on the border to prevent crimes on the border, to prevent drug abuse. To create awareness among the people and to make people aware to stop animal smuggling. The Border Security Force is determined to make this cycle rally a success with all its efforts.
