BSF APPREHENDED THREE BANGLADESHI WITH INDIAN BROKER, ONE HANDED OVER TO BORDER GUARD BANGLADESH ON GOODWILL AND HUMANITARIAN

The Border Security Force troops under the South Bengal Frontier detained an Indian broker and three Bangladeshi nationals while crossing the International Boundary illegally in two separate incidents in the border area.

The incident took place on 5the morning of December 19, 2021 at around 0615 hrs, in which the alert troops of Border Out Post Jeetpur, adhoc-vii Battalion, apprehended a person near Tarbandi. He was identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam, Age 22 years, village-Rajar Dumri, District-Jessore, Bangladesh.

On interrogation, Mohammad Shariful Islam revealed that he had come to India with his mother two years ago and used to work as a laborer with Bobby Seth builder in Navi Mumbai. Today he was returning to Bangladesh. Further he revealed that he has given Rs 16000/- to Indian broker Khoka, who is a resident of village Hariharpur, PS-Baghdah, District North 24 Parganas.

The apprehended youth has been handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh on humanitarian grounds.

In the second incident, on 19 December, 2021, at around 2340 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Silberia, 08 Battalion launched a special operation on the basis of specific information and apprehended three persons. Those who were identified as i) Mahsin Mandal, age 21 years, S/o Sahadat Mandal, Village-Kulgachi, District-Nadia, West Bengal, the other two citizens are residents of village Padradia, District Faridpur, Bangladesh, whose name is Mohammad Imran, Age 33 years and his wife Musamat Suma Akhtar, age 25 years.

On interrogation, Mohammad Imran revealed that he had come to India with his wife 4 years ago and used to work in Kadoos Mulla’s garbage factory in Bhomenahalli, Bangalore. He further revealed that there are around 300 other Bangladeshi nationals also living near Kadus factory. He further revealed that to go to Bangladesh, he took the help of Sukanto Biswas (Appu) village Sukantopalli and Sahadat Mondal, village Kulgachi and also gave them Rs.30,000/- for this work.

Mehsin Mandal admitted that his father Saadat Mandal is involved in all cross-border crimes and has just been released on bail. He further revealed that he is also involved in trans-border crimes with his father and was apprehended in human trafficking a year ago and now he also has come out on bail.

The three apprehended persons were handed over to the Police Station Hanskhali for further legal action.

The Public Relations Officer of the Border Security Force stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent illegal cross-border movement along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Due to which broker and his associates are facing a lot of difficulties and some of them are being apprehended, who are also being punished according to the law. Also, in view of the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended Bangladeshi nationals, some people are being handed over to Bangladesh due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries.
