The incident took place on December 20, 2021, of the Border Out Post of 141 Battalion of Border Security Force, Dayarampur area. In which at around 1215 pm, the jawan on duty of the Border Out Post Dayrampur got information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle by attacking jawans at night. Before the smugglers could succeed in their plans, BSF jawans raided the suspicious area and the jawan found a bag from which a 12 bore rifle without a barrel and 138 bottles of Phensedyl with 20 live cartridges. When the farmer who was cutting grass nearby was questioned about this bag, he refused to have any information about it. BSF is engaged in gathering information with the help of its Intelligence Department whether this weapon is not a part of any conspiracy.
The seized items have been handed over to Jalangi Police Station for further legal action.
The Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier encouraging his jawans and stated that our jawans are committed to completely stop smuggling in the area. He further stated that in this area, smugglers try to forcibly smuggle the troops by attacking them, but it is impossible to smuggle in the area with the vigilance and understanding of the BSF troops.
