BSF APPREHENDED FOUR SMUGGLERS(TWO INDIAN AND TWO BANGLADESHI) AND SEIZED 475 PHENSEDYL BOTTLES

On December 22, 2021, the troops posted in the border area of ​​South Bengal Frontier apprehended 4 Phensedyl smugglers in separate incidents and seized 475 Phensedyl bottle. The total value of the seized Phensedyl is Rs 88,659.

In the first incident, on the morning of December 22, 2021 at 0300 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Madanghat, ​​35 Battalion on duty cordoned off the suspected area and started a search operation. As a result, two smugglers were apprehended. On frisking, 85 Phensedyl bottles were found from their possession. They were identified as
1) Bokul( age 45 years) S/o- Abdul Samal , village- Bidol Radhabari, District- Rajshahi (Bangladesh).
2) Mohammad Dilovar Hussain (age 20 years), S/o- Manirul Islam, village- Sajjadabad, District Rajshahi (Bangladesh). Further both revealed that these Phensedyl bottles were given to them by Parsanjit Mandal, S/o- Bhola Mandal, village – Mosmadi (Murshidabad). Their task was to hand over these Phensedyl across the International Boundary to Ana Mohammed, S/o – Bablu Sekh, village – Godagri (Rajshai).

In another incident, on the morning of December 22, 2021, the troops of Border Out Post Boyra, posted in the border area of ​​District North 24 Parganas, 107 Battalion, acting on reliable information, apprehended two sumgglers near the border road at around 0715 hrs and seized 50 bottles of Phensedyl from their possession. Both the apprehended persons are residents of Kulnandpur village in the border area of North 24 Parganas named Azizul Biswas(24) S/o– Abdul Biswas and Saidul Biswas(30) S/o– Anwar Biswas.

Don’t get employment, started smuggling

On interrogation, both revealed that they work as masons but due to corona epidemic they were not getting any employment, so they planned to smuggle Phensedyl. They bought 50 bottles from Upen Biswas, village -Kulnandpur at Rs 300 per bottle. They further revealed that they were going to give these bottles to Bangladesh smuggler Rahim Sheikh, village-Kashipur at Rs 400 per bottle.

In other incidents, the South Bengal Frontier has seized 385 Phensedyl bottles from the area of ​​their responsibility, foiling the attempts of smugglers.

The apprehended smugglers and the seized Phensedyl have been handed over to the concerned Police Station for further legal action.

The Public Relations Officer of the South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent smuggling along the India-Bangladesh border. Due to which people involved in smuggling are facing a lot of difficulties and some of them are being apprehend, who are also being punished according to the law. Officer stated that in strong words that he would not allow smuggling from his area under any circumstances.
