On 27 December, 2021, from 0900 to 1500 hrs, the troops of Border Outpost NC Pur, 84 Battalion, of Berhampur Sector under South Bengal Frontier, organized a Civic Action Program for the welfare of border population & to promote sports among youths of remote border area.
The youths as well as children and villagers of NC Pur, Bhattupara, Ilshamari villages enthusiastically participated during the event. Sh. Tapas Shah, MLA of this constituency attended the program as the chief guest. To encourage sportsmanship in the youths sports items like Volleyball, Badminton, Football, Carrom board etc. were distributed among them. A football match was also organized between the teams of NC Pur and Ilshamari village to increase the interest of the youth towards sports. The local population cheered and encouraged the players great enthusiasm. The village heads and members were also present during the programme.
The people of the area highly appreciated the programme and urged to organize more and more such events in future.
The Commanding Officer of the 84 Battalion has expressed happiness over the conduct of this camp. He stated that such programs create a healthy environment and create sportsmanship among the youths. He also stated that such programs would be organized in future also to increase the awareness of sports and education of the youth of the border villages. He encouraged the children to become a good citizen bring Laurels to the country.
