BSF apprehended a smuggler with Phensedyl on the Indo-Bangladesh Border

On 31 December, 2021 the troops of Border Out Post Kaharpada, 117 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier apprehended a smuggler with 69 Phensedyl in the border area of ​​Sector Baharampur.

On December 31, 2021, the jawans of Border Out Post Kaharpada, 117 Battalion, Sector Baharampur apprehended a smuggler red handed with Phensedyl at 1110jrs on the basis of specific information. During the search, 69 Phensedyl bottles were seized from the urea fertilizer bag. The estimated cost of the seized Phensedyl in the Indian market is Rs.12,870/-.

The arrested smuggler was identified as:

Tutal Shaikh, age 35, S/o- Himaj Shaikh, village Rejotpada, District Murshidabad.

During preliminary interrogation, he revealed that these Phensedyl bottle was given to him by Mafikul Islam, age 28 years, S/o-Kalu Sheikh, village Kaharpada, District Murshidabad. After this these bottles were to be handed over to Mosamil Sheikh, 30 years old, village Charmazardiyar, District Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

The apprehended smuggler and the seized Phensedyl bottles have been handed over to the Police Station Raninagar for further legal proceedings.

Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking stringent steps to stop smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Officer stated that in stern words that he is determined to completely stop smuggling from his responsible area.
