(District-Malda)
On February 25, 2022 at around 1015 hrs, on the basis of specific information, vigilant troops of Border Out Post Kedaripara, 159, under the SectorHeadquarters Malda, apprehended three Bangladeshi and 01 Indian national when they were hiding in the house of Indian resident Bhadu Hembram (Village Aragachi, Malda) after crossing the International Border.
Apprehended persons identified as in preliminary interrogation–
i) Sohail Murmu, age – 19 years, father – Noren Murmu, Village – Gardain, District – Rajshahi, Bangladesh
ii) Sanjit Tudu, age – 22 years, father – Sunil Tudu, village – Nachal, District – Chapai Nawabganj.
iii) Sameer Tudu, Age – 35 years, Father – Pol Tudu, Village – Miyapur, District – Rajshahi.
iv)- Sylbus Tudu, age- 38 years, father- Shyam Tudu, village- Gardain Mari, District- Bardhaman, Bengal.
During interrogation, Bangladeshi nationals revealed that all these people had come to India in search of jobs. Whereas Silbus Tudu (Indian national) confessed that he had illegally crossed the International Boundary from India to Bangladesh to meet his family members a few days back and on his way back, is bringing these three Bangladeshis to India for work. On February 24, all of them illegally came to India from Bangladesh and Indian resident Bhadu came to Hembram’s house and stayed in his house for the whole night and on February 25, all of them were to go to Bardhaman, but they were apprehended by BSF troops.
All the apprehended persons were handed over to Habibpur Police Station along with the seized items for further action.
The Public Relations Officer of the South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent smuggling along the India-Bangladesh border. Consequently, the people involved in such crimes are facing a lot of difficulties. Some of them are being apprehended and are being punished according to the law.
