Russia -Ukraine Conflict Russia an emerging energy giant

Post collapse of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in the early 1990s and thereafter, many years of economic struggle and internal strife, the leadership of President Vladimir Putin finally ensured that Russia is now seen as an energy giant becoming the world’s third-largest producer of oil and second-largest producer of natural gas. Russia is learnt to have used energy revenue to accumulate some $630 billion in foreign exchange reserves. For example, in the year 2021, Russia balanced its budget with a relatively low oil price at $45 per barrel against an average of nearly $70 a barrel.

Since last few months, both print and the electronic media all over the world had started to speculate about every likelihood of a Russian aggression taking place in Ukraine. The United States (US) also started to convey that the invasion of Ukraine by Russia was imminent. Thus, the administration of US President Joe Biden began insisting that its threat of “severe economic consequences” would deter Russia from invading Ukraine.

During President Biden’s meeting with the German Chancellor on February 07, 2022, the US and its allies were seen stressing that they were united on the consequences should Russia actually invades Ukraine.

On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, one of its neighbours to the southwest. It marked a major escalation between the countries, which had been in a state of conflict since 2014.

Actually the Russo-Ukrainian War began in 2014 following the Russian annexation of Crimea from Ukraine. In February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine across a broad front. The Russian Federation and Ukraine are currently in a state of war.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has killed over 350 civilians so far. Ukraine has said their goal for the talks was an immediate ceasefire while Russia’s Vladimir Putin has put the country’s nuclear deterrent forces in a “special regime of combat duty”. Several nations, such as Germany, the US, Australia, and Canada, have decided to send military support to Ukraine. Meanwhile, India again abstained from voting at a UNHRC meeting held on Monday.

Many big countries are protesting against the war between Russia and Ukraine. Let all countries speak out before the start of nuclear war or the consequences of nuclear war will be terrible and the whole world will have to suffer hell for it. Nuclear war is inevitable in all world climate and climate change. According to scientific data, nuclear war will increase the number of deadly diseases like cancer. River water from the sea will become polluted. The environment will be polluted to such an extent that in the next twenty years all agricultural production in the world will be disrupted and people will die of starvation and malnutrition. In a few years the climate and climate of the whole world will be plunged into darkness and twenty years after the use of these nuclear weapons human skin cancer will continue. Every countryman should come forward in a loud protest against the killing of humanity. Why all the people of the world will have to fight for the interests of someone or for the sake of Igor. At the moment, there is a storm of protest in several countries. Russia is being pressured in various ways but they are not aware. Let there be more storms of protest in the media than arms or paper or else we and our next generation will have to pay a heavy price for it. Let everyone be vocal in maintaining world peace .
