BSF HANDED OVER THE ‘CASUALTY CERTIFICATE’ GIVEN BY THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA TO SHAHEED CHANDU GHOSH FOR HIS INCOMPARABLE CONTRIBUTION IN THE TERRORIST ATTACK

Every day one or the other encounter news between the security forces and terrorists keeps coming to the fore and the terrorists have to face defeat in front of the spirits of the BSF troops and they have to lose their lives. But sometimes the sons of Mother India also get martyred in these encounters. In this sequence, Constable Chandu Ghosh, 76 Battalion sacrificing his life, had inscribed his name in the golden pages of history and became a martyr. Constable Chandu Ghosh was originally a resident of village – Kohetpur, Post – Joykrishnapur, District – Murshidabad.

Constable Chandu Ghosh had joined the Border Security Force on July 16, 1986. On 12 February 1988, when the 76 Battalion troops had planted Ambush at Charkoli place in Darjeeling, at the same time the GNLF terrorist group suddenly attacked the Ambush Party. In this encounter, constable Chandu Ghosh demonstrated indomitable courage and valor and was martyred while fighting the terrorists.

On March 10, 2022, the ‘Operational Casualty Certificate’ given by the Government of India was presented by the 117 Battalion BSF, to the families of Shaheed Chandu Ghosh. BSF keeps those who make sacrifices for the country paramount.
