BSF EXPOSED THE CASE OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING, 12 YEARS AGO HUSBAND HAD RAN AWAY AFTER SELLING HER ONLY FOR 40 THOUSAND RUPEES

On the intervening night of 22/23 March 2022, the troops of Border Out Post Ranghat, Adhoc VII Battalionon intercepted a woman while crossing the International Boundary illegally with her child whose identity is Najma Khatoon (fictitious name), age 35 years and her five-year-old daughter is a resident of Khulna District of Bangladesh.

BSF officers got emotional hearing the woman’s ordeal during Interrogation. During interrogation, Najma Khatoon (fictitious name) revealed that 12 years ago she had come to India with her first husband Montu and her husband had sold her to Priyanka Bar in Kalyan, Mumbai for Rs 40,000 where she used to make a living by working as a dancer and prostitute. She further revealed that she married for the second time to Dharmendra Shah, a resident of Kalyan and left the business of prostitution and started working in a cloth shop named Sai Ram near Kalyan Railway Station.

In a statement it was told that contact was also made to BGB for handing over to the apprehended woman, but due to some reasons things could not get materialize after which the woman was handed over to the Police Station Baghdaha for further legal action.

Shri Om Prakash Sharma, Commanding Officer, Adhoc VII Battalionon stated that BSF is taking very strict steps to stop illegal movement along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Due to which the back of the touts has been broken and the cases of human trafficking have come down to a great extent, but the cases of human trafficking have not been completely eradicated. He further added that the Anti Human Trafficking Unit deployed by the South Bengal Frontier is disclosing cases of human trafficking every day. Simultaneously the commanding officer gave strict order to human traffickers that they would not be spared under any circumstances.
