Dr. Atul Fulzele, Indian Police Service (IPS), took over as the Inspector General (IG) of South Bengal Frontier on March 05, 2022. After assuming charge, he visited Malda, one of the most sensitive areas of the South Bengal Frontier, from March 25 to March 27.
During this three-day visit, on the first day, he along with Sector DIG, Shri Sudhir Hooda and Commanding Officer of 44 Battalion Shri H S Bedi visited the Mahananda River at Zero Point in the area of Border Out Post Adampur.
Thereafter, the Inspector General, South Bengal Frontier reached Sector Headquarters Narayanpur, Malda on March 26, 22 at around 1030 hrs along with Public Relations Officer and DIG of South Bengal Frontier Sh Surjeet Singh Guleria and Sector DIG Sh Sudhir Hooda, held a meeting with the Commanding Officers of all Battalion and senior officers at 11 o’clock on 26.3.22 in the conference hall and discussed the issues related to the border.
On March 27, 2022, the Inspector General reached ICP Mahadipur, 70 Battalion in the morning and held meeting with the officers of BSF, Customs and Immigration Department posted there and discussed about the functioning of Land, Custom Station ( LCS). Thereafter, the Inspector General reached the Border Out Post of 78 Battalion Nimita and interacted collectively with all the Company Commanders of all the Border Post posted under Malda sector and during the talks, the guidelines issued regarding Zero smuggling, corruption and Zero accidental fire and Instructions were given regarding strict compliance.
Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, Inspector General, South Bengal Frontier, after his visit to Malda, appreciated the performance of all levels of troops posted on the border and assured to take all necessary steps to keep the smuggling graph at a low level in the times to come.
