BSF HANDED OVER THE ‘CASUALTY CERTIFICATE’ GIVEN BY THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA TO SANTOSH KUMAR SARKAR FOR HIS INCOMPARABLE CONTRIBUTION IN THE TERRORIST ATTACK

On September 09, 1990, BSF Constable Santosh Kumar Sarkar of the 76 Battalion was martyred while protecting the country in the firing by terrorists during the deployment on the Line of Actual Control (FDL) of India-Pakistan Border in Jammu and Kashmir. The martyr Santosh Kumar Sarkar was a resident of Village-Noor Nagar, Post-Satdalpur, District-Malda, West Bengal.

On April 04, 2022, Mr. Sudhir Hooda, DIG, Sector Malda presented the ‘Casualty Certificate’ by the Government of India to Mrs. Rekha Rani Sarkar, the wife of the martyr at Sector Headquarters Malda.

Shri Sudhir Hooda, DIG, Sector Headquarters Malda stated in the statement that the Constables were recruited in the Border Security Force on June 1970. He was posted in the 76 Battalion of BSF and his duty was on the FDL in Jammu and Kashmir on the Indo-Pakistan border. According to BSF, constable Santosh Kumar Sarkar was martyred for the country in an attack by terrorists on September 07, 1990. For his courageous act, a sacrifice certificate has been handed over to his wife from the BSF.
