The training programme for Presiding and Polling Officers for forthcoming Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) election has been begun from to-day at Guwahati Commerce College. A total 1000 Presiding Officers and 4000 Polling Officers have been rendered training by the Master Trainer in this training programme. Sri Pallav Gopal Jha, District Election Officer, Kamrup (M) inaugurated the training programme and urged to all concerned for co-operation for conducting the forthcoming GMC election smoothly. It may be mentioned that 4 days training programme for Presiding & Polling Officer has been arranged on 6th, 7th, 10th and 13th April. This time there are total 789 nos. of polling stations for 60 nos. ward, out of which 780 nos. are main polling stations and 9 nos. are auxiliary polling stations.
