BSF APPREHENDED 06 BANGLADESHI NATIONALS INCLUDING THREE WOMEN ON BORDER, HANDED OVER TO BGB AS A GOODWILL GESTURE

On the night of 10 April, 2022 at about 0515 hrs a total of 06 people (three women + two men + one child) were taken into custody by the vigilant troops of Border Out Posts, Ranghat and Jeetpur of 68 Battalion who were identified as follows – i) Joyenta Biswas (25) Village Raghunathpur, District Gopalganj, ii) Ruma, (35) (Name Changed), Village West Dumuria, District – Barisal, iii) Mosa Fatima Begum (29), Village – Alipore, Distt. – Patuakhali, iv) Masharu Zaman (23), Village – Lutia, District – Narel, his wife Taslima Zaman (22) and 19 months old son Arafat Islam.

On interrogation, Ruma (Name Changed) revealed that she had come to India for the first time in 2019 and used to work as a maid in Bhagwati Nagar, Ahmedabad and in 2021 she got in touch with a person named Ram Darbar, pushed her in the work of prostitution. The rest of the arrested persons wanted to visit their relatives or come to India in search of work.

The apprehended persons were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh for due to humanity as well as goodwill gesture.

Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being caught. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to mutual cooperation as well as goodwill gesture of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
