02 MINOR BANGLADESHI BOYS CROSSED THE INTERNATIONAL BORDER FOR THE JOB, BSF HANDED OVER TO BGB ON HUMANITARIAN GROUNDS

On 17 April, 2022, at about 0710 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Kalyani, 158 Battalion BSF under South Bengal Frontier apprehended 02 Bangladeshi boys while crossing the International Boundary and going to Bangladesh. The apprehended Bangladeshi boys have been identified as Shivan Hussain, age 12, (fictitious name), Post + Thana – Benapole, District – Jessore, Bangladesh and another identified as Mohammad Hamid Hussain, age 11, (fictitious name) Post – Benapole, Thana -Benapol, District- Jessore (Bangladesh).

During interrogation, both the boys revealed that they study in Rail Bazar Primary School, Benapol. Both had somehow entered India on April 16, 2022 to do a good job, but after coming to India, they could not understand any work(Job). After which both of them planned to go back to Bangladesh. Today, when both were trying to cross the International Border to Bangladesh, the BSF apprehended them.

After thoroughly interrogating both the boys, due to mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Force of both the countries, the minor boys have been handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh on humanitarian grounds.

H S Tomar, Commanding Officer, 158 Battalion stated that our jawans keep a close watch on illegal infiltration along the International Border as well as people crossing the border in any way. He stated that the apprehended Bangladeshi national had no prior criminal history or any record of crossing the border illegally, hence they were handed back to BGB, Bangladesh on humanitarian grounds.
