Archaeological Survey of India, Guwahati Circle Celebrates World Heritage Day at Rang Ghar in Sivasagar

Archaeological Survey of India, Guwahati Circle celebrated the World Heritage day at the historical monument Rang Ghar in Sivasagar today. On this occasion several programmes were organised.

 A heritage walk was organised from Talatal Ghar  to Rang Ghar with active participation of  students  and teachers from nearby schools. A photo exhibition was also organised showcasing the world heritage monuments and sites as well as the monuments of Northeast India.  Digital Jyoti standees having  QR code link were placed at suitable locations to offer the tributes to martyrs on the occasion of celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. A swachhata programme was also undertaken  at the monuments.

The World Heritage Day is celebrated keeping in view the significance of preservation of cultural heritage. India is truly having a rich history and conservation and preservation of cultural heritage is utmost necessary.
