Acting on the basis of specific input, vigilant troops of Border Out Post Jeetpur of 68 Battalion Border Security Force detained a woman while crossing the International Boundary illegally. She was identified as Nazim Begum (33), W/o Jamal Shaikh, District Jessore, Bangladesh.

On interrogation, Nazim Begum revealed that she had come to India a few days ago and used to work as a housemaid in Mira Road area of ​​Mumbai and was going back to Bangladesh today with the help of Indian tout Ravi, a resident of Bangaon.

The apprehended woman has been handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh for the sake of humanity and goodwill.

When BSF approached to hand over the woman to BGB, BGB expressed its willingness to hand over two Indian men to BSF. It is worth noting that when an Indian crosses the International Boundary accidentally or unknowingly and goes to Bangladesh, due to the seriousness of their crime, the Border Guard Bangladesh also returns them to the Border Security Force as goodwill gesture. In this connection on April 22, 2022 , 58 Battalion Border Guard Bangladesh handed over two Indian nationals to BSF who had gone to Bangladesh to meet their relatives on the night of 21 April 2022. The handed over has been identified as Bhabosindhu Bala (53) resident of Rammudi Palli village in West Bengal’s Bardhaman district and Prafulla Bala (36) resident of Bhashapur village in East Bardhaman district.

Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being apprehended. In view of the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to mutual cooperation as well as goodwill gesture of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are being handed over to each other force.
