Low voter turnout in Guwahati Municipal Corporation Elections ! Guwahatian forget their problem !

Guwahati is seen as a gateway to Northeast India. The voting to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has been done yesterday with strict security measures. All measures were undertaken by Assam Police and the State Election Commission for the smooth execution of the same.

Approximately 54% voter turnout for the GMC elections is seemingly a cause of concern. This is at a time when Guwahati is loaded with problems such as scarcity of drinking water, street lights, etc. And more.

It may be mentioned that, the GMC administers through various branches/sections/cells located at its different offices situated mainly at various places of Guwahati city, as an administrative team.
