On the night of 25 April, 2022 at 2040 hrs, alert personnel of 68 Battalion Border Outpost Ranghat detained a woman while she was crossing the International Border illegally. Her identity is Ripa Paike (18), District – Gopalganj, Bangladesh.
During interrogation, Ripa Paike told that for the last 2/3 years she was suffering due to appendix disease and she was coming to Kolkata (India) for better treatment at the behest of her Indian Facebook friend Animesh (25).
The arrested woman was handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh as a gesture of humanity and goodwill.
Sh. Yoginder Agarwal, Commanding Officer of 68 battalion said that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being caught. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the arrested people and due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are being handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
