On the night of 6 May 2022 at 0250 hrs, vigilant troops of Border Out Post Jeetpur, 68 Battalion, detained 2 Bangladeshis while crossing the International Boundary illegally whose identity is Chapala Ojha (30), her 2-year-old son, who lives in the district – Gopalganj, Bangladesh.
During interrogation, she revealed that she and her husband had come to India from unknown border area 03 years ago. Her husband was working in the garment business in Howrah area. She revealed that today her husband had also come to the border area, but when challenged by the BSF, he fled towards India and left her on the spot. Meanwhile, alert BSF personnel on duty caught her. There has been no disclosure of the broker from Bangladesh and India.
The apprehended woman and her 2-year-old son were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh as a goodwill gesture.
Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being caught continuously. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to the mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are being handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
