On May 07, 2022 at about 1100 hrs, on duty troops of 141 Battalion Border Out Post Meghna apprehended 04 Bangladeshi nationals who had entered Indian territory. The detained Bangladeshi nationals identified themselves as Antar Mandal (age 14 years), S/o – Rabikul Mandal, ii) Samrat Mandal (age 16 years), S/o – Arif Mandal, iii) Alameen Mandal (age 20 years), S/o – Altaf Mandal, iv) Akash Mandal (age 14 years), S/o- Ashim Mandal. These four youths are from village- Gwali Manda, Thana-Lauzan, District- Munshiganj (Bangladesh).
During interrogation, youths told that they were wandering from village to village in search of livelihood in Bangladesh. During this time, all of them were roaming in the village near the International Boundary. They revealed that they did not know when they entered the Indian border. They were apprehended by BSF troops while crossing the International Boundary.
The BSF, after thoroughly investigating 04 Bangladeshi youths, handed over to Border Guard to Bangladesh on the basis of humanitarian and goodwill.
Nagendra Singh Rautela, Commanding Officer of 141 battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border. In view of the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and to maintain mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, they are handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
