Officials stated that the incident happened when the village head of the border village Kistopur in the border area of Malda district informed the Border Out Post Kistopur, 44 Battalion that person named Abdul Khaliq had passed away. His sister lives in Bangladesh’s border village Chandshikari, district- Chapainwabganj, Bangladesh which is located at a distance of about 1 kilometer from the International Boundary. He requested the BSF that his relatives wanted to have a last glimpse. After this, the Company Commander talked to the Higher Headquarters and took a quick decision in this regard without any delay keeping in mind the humanitarian and emotional aspect. Arrangements were made for the relatives living in Bangladesh to have his last glimpse on the zero line near the International Boundary on 12 May, 2022 from 2200 – 2215 hrs. In this way, it became possible to get last glimpse of their deceased brother.
