An Indian smuggler was apprehended by the jawans of 117 Battalion under the South Bengal Frontier BSF with 55 Phensedyl. The smuggler was trying to take all these Phensedyl bottles from India to Bangladesh.
On May 17, 2022, at around 0905 in the morning, the troops of Border Out Post Rajanagar, 117 Battalion, succeeded in apprehending a minor Indian smuggler. On search, 55 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered from him.The minor boy has been identified as Biplab Das(17), (Name Changed), Police Station – Raninagar, District – Murshidabad.
The apprehended minor revealed that he had taken these Phensedyl bottles from Huru Mandal (age 22 years), S/o – Sachin Mandal, Village – Charrajapur Gonapara, Post – Rajapur, Thana – Raninagar. After crossing the duty line of BSF, it was about to handed over to Akash Shaikh(38), Village Dashmari, Post-Dasmari, District- Rajshahi (Bangladesh) . For this work, he was going to get 1,000 rupees.
The apprehended boy and the seized goods have been handed over to the Police Station Raninagar for further legal action.
Smugglers indulge in smuggling minor children
KS Mehta, Commanding Officer, 117 Battalion, BSF expressed happiness over the alertness of its troops and stated that their troops are fully determined and committed to prevent cross border crimes and smuggling. Smugglers are making children a shield to carry out smuggling, but they are not able to succeed in front of the alert troops of BSF.
