Rigged case came into notice in SSC constable (GD) recruitment-2021, 01 candidate arrested in biometric test

On 18 May, 2022, PST/PET Exam for Direct Recruitment of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Assam Rifles through SSC – 2021 was held at Baishnabnagar Campus, Headquarters of 70 Battalion BSF under South Bengal Frontier. During the documentation and biometric test, a candidate was arrested for doing fraud with the Recruitment Board.

The case is of Staff Selection Commission Constable Direct Recruitment-2021 being conducted in 70th Battalion, Baishnabnagar, Malda District (West Bengal) in which a candidate identified as Rashidul Islam (Roll No. 4410037164), Father – Ruhul Amin, Village – Laskarpur , Post – Sibnagar Laskarpur, PS – Domkal, Dist – Murshidabad (West Bengal) was arrested for doing fraud with the Recruitment Board. The Recruitment Board, Baishnabnagar Campus, 70 Battalion BSF informed that the candidate’s face and fingerprints do not match with the previous data which data were taken by the Staff Selection Commission during the written examination.

After interrogation, the suspected candidate disclosed that he had paid Rs 1,70,000/- to a person namely Oliullah Sheikh, owner/teacher of Army Coaching Centre, Plassey Memorial, District- Nadia, West Bengal (who facilitates other candidates in the written examination). He further stated that Oliullah Shaikh took the help of a BSF personnel Sentu Shah (mobile number 8918599896, he does not know much about him) to help him in the selection of the said recruitment test. The arrested candidate has also paid Rs 6000/- to the said BSF jawan Sentu Shah.

After verification of the matter, it came to notice that Regimental No. 084220093 Constable (GD) Sentu Shah was dismissed from service from 01Battalion BSF on 22 September, 2021 after being found guilty in the previous registered fraud case against him.

The candidate has been handed over to the Baishnabnagar police station after registering an FIR for further legal proceedings.

South Bengal Frontier Headquarters Public Relations Officer and Senior DIG Surjit Singh Guleria strongly condemned this matter and said that there will be no rigging in the selection process, for this we have a strong system which helps in detecting such rigged cases. He further said that the touts are misleading the participants by looting money. The officer has requested the people around that if any such fraud case comes to the notice of anyone, then they can inform the Recruitment Board and Seema Saathi Helpline Number 14419 of South Bengal Frontier Headquarters.
