An Indian smuggler was apprehended by the troops of 35 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier BSF with 25 bottles Phensedyl. The apprehended smugglers was trying to take all these Phensedyl bottles from India to Bangladesh.
On 21st May, 2022 at around 0140 in the early morning, the troops of Border Out Post Kanapara, 35 Battalion, succeeded in apprehending an Indian smuggler. On searching, 25 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered from his possession. The smuggler has been identified as Sinrul Islam (age 26 years), Father- Shadiq Shaikh Village- Char Lavangola, Post- Hanumant Nagar, PS- Bhagwangola District- Murshidabad.
The smuggler revealed that he had taken these Phensedyl bottles from Sarikul Shaikh, S/o- Manuel Shaikh, Village-Char Lavangola, Post- Hanumantnagar, PS-Bhagwangola. After crossing the duty line of BSF, these Phensedyl bottles were to be handed over to Saidul, Village Char Nausera, Post-Charghat District Rajshahi (Bangladesh).
Apprehended smugglers and seized items have been handed over to Police Station Lalgola for further action.
Satish Kumar Dogra, Commanding Officer, 35 Battalion, BSF expressed happiness over the alertness of its troops and stated that their troops are fully determined and committed to prevent cross border crimes and smuggling.
