The Central Government sanctions Rs. 180 cr for restoration of railway track of Dima Hasao District of Assam.

In a tweet Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned it. CM Dr. Sarma tweeted, ” Glad to meet Hon Union Railways Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw ji in New Delhi. Happy to share that @RailMinIndia has sanctioned ₹180 cr for restoration of the railway network that was devastated by floods & landslides in Dima Hasao and assured to complete the work by July 10.”

Assam CM also tweeted “Repair of the damaged portions of the vital rail link will not only restore connectivity between Barak and Brahmaputra valleys of Assam but also reconnect Tripura, Mizoram & parts of Manipur with rest of the country. My gratitude to the Hon Minister for his prompt initiative.”

The railway line in the Lumding-Badarpur section in the Dima Hasao district of Assam got completely damaged in the floods and landslides last week. This railway track is also connected with Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram.

Presently the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) had suspended all trains including goods trains through Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section to Dima Hasao, Barak Valley, Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur.
