BSF apprehended 3 Bangladeshi nationals crossing International Boundary, handed over to BGB as humanitarian and goodwill

On the night of 1/2 June, 2022, the troops of 68 Battalion Border Out Post Ranaghat apprehended 3 Bangladeshi nationals while performing vigilant duty in their area. Identification of apprehended Bangladeshi nationals – 1. Mihir Bakchi (50), District – Gopalganj (Bangladesh), 2. Aisa Akhtar Kona (23), District – Dhaka (Bangladesh) 3. Fatima Akhtar (30), District – Dhaka (Bangladesh).

During interrogation, they revealed that all of them are citizens of Bangladesh and their relatives live in India, with whom they had all come to India to meet. Today everyone was going back to Bangladesh. They were apprehended by BSF jawans while crossing the International Boundary.

BSF has thoroughly examined all Bangladeshi nationals and handed over their belongings to Border Guard Bangladesh on humanitarian and goodwill basis.

Pranav Prabhakar, Officiating Commanding Officer, 68 Battalion informed that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border. In view of the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and to maintain mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some civilians are handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
