BSF apprehended 02 Bangladeshi nationals on Indo-Bangladesh Border, handed over to BGB as humanitarian and goodwill

BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier apprehended 02 Bangladeshi nationals in separate incidents on 09 June, 2022. In the first incident, the troops of Border Out Post Madhupur, 68 Battalion apprehended a Bangladeshi man at 0430 hrs and the troops of Border Out Post Ghongra, 82 Battalion apprehended a Bangladeshi woman illegally crossing International Boundary at 0940 hrs. Identity of apprehended Bangladeshi nationals 1.Fairaza Sarkar(27), District – Jessore(Bangladesh) , 2.Shaheen Shah, Village – Joypur, Post – Bolovpur, Thana – Mujib Nagar, District – Meherpur Bangladesh.

During questioning, the woman revealed that she is a Bangladeshi citizen, and had come to India for work, but was returning to Bangladesh due to lack of proper earning. The woman further revealed that while crossing the IB, BSF troops apprehended her.

On the other hand, the apprehended youth revealed that he inadvertently crossed the International Boundary to pluck fruits in Indian territory. After crossing the IB, BSF troops apprehended him.

After investigating the apprehended civilians, BSF handed over the Border Guard to Bangladesh as a gesture of goodwill and humanity.

The commanding officer of both the battalions stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Due to which people are getting apprhended continuously. Considering the seriousness of the crime of those apprehended persons, they are handed over to BGB, Bangladesh.
