On June 16, 2022, the troops of Border Out Post Bansghata, 107 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, acting on the basis of specific input apprehended a Bangladeshi smuggler with 52 kg of ganja. The smuggler was identified as Aaleem Rahman (35) S/o late Mizanur Rahman, village Bahadurpur, district Jessore.
During interrogation, Aalim Rehman revealed that he smuggles across the border to earn easy money. He further revealed that he was accompanied by a fellow resident of his village but he fled after seeing the BSF.
The apprehended person had been handed over to the Police Station Baghdaha along with the seized items.
Sunil Kumar, Commanding Officer of 107 Battalion informed that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to stop smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border due to which people involved in smuggling are facing a lot of difficulties. Some of them are being caught. The officer stated in strong words that the Border Security Force will not allow smuggling under any circumstances.
