Airports Authority of India felicitates emerging talents from Assam

The Airports Authority of India, North East Regional Headquarters has honored local and emerging talent in keeping with its tradition.

The Airport Authority of India Regional Sports Control Board and Women’s Welfare Cell ‘Kalayanmayi’ honoured two outstanding sportspersons of Assam, who have achieved a different position in their field, from public forum on 19 June 2022.

Anjali Das who hails from Mirza Barihat, who has completed the stretch of 2,850 kilometre from Mirza in Assam to Laddakh in Kashmir. She has also made a record of completing 100 kilometres in about 18 hours.   

Sabita baniya who became Miss Kamrup in 2019, Miss guwahati in 2020 and miss Assam in 2020 and 2021 in powerlifting, body building, was also felicitated on the occasion.

President kalyanmayee, Mrs. Madhavi and president regional sports control board shri Ravi Kant presented traditional Assamese Pulam Gamocha and Japi along with mementos from AAI.

On the occasion, Shri Ravi Kant appreciated the determination and consistent hard work by both the athletes. A small cultural programme was also presented by artists. The programme ended with vote of thank by Shri Gian Batra, General Manager, HR.
