On July 01, 2022 at about 1335 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Jhorpara, 08 Battalion took a youth into custody with 24 bottles of Phensedyl and 10 bottles of Officer’s Choice (English liquor) acting on the basis of strong input. The youth was trying to take these banned items to Bangladesh. The apprehended person has been identified as Subhendu Biswas, age 29 years, S/o Suresh Biswas, Village Jhorpara, District- Nadia.
During interrogation, Subhendu Biswas revealed that he has been involved in trance Border smuggling for some time and today he had brought these items from Dattapulia and BSF apprehended him before sending it to Bangladesh.
The apprehended person had been handed over to the Police Station Dhantala along with the seized items.
Shri Rajeev Raturi, Commanding Officer, 08 Battalion informed that BSF is making continuous efforts to stop smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some smugglers have been caught, who are being punished as per law.
