BSF apprehended Two women on the border, handed over to BGB due to humanity and goodwill

On July 02, 2022, the vigilant troops of Border Out Post Ranghat, 68 Battalion, acting on the basis of specific information, apprehended two women while crossing the International Boundary illegally. The apprehended women were identified as Asma Shaikh Begum (27), district Narel and Tania Sadiq (24), district Narayanganj, Bangladesh.

During interrogation, both revealed that they had come to India a few month ago and used to work in different beauty parlors in Mumbai and both married Indian people. Today they were going back to Bangladesh to meet their family.

The apprehended women were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh as a gesture of humanity and goodwill.

BGB also presented an example of friendship, handed over two Indians to BSF


When a Bangladeshi national accidentally or inadvertantaly crosses the IB to Bangladesh, seeing the seriousness of their crime and in good faith, BGB also gives them to the Border Security Force. In this connection, on 03 July, 58 Battalion Border Guard Bangladesh handed over two Indian nationals to BSF who was apprehended on the night of 02 July 2022. Those who had gone to Bangladesh to meet their relatives.


The returned persons were identified as Jamal Malik (31), Jadavpur village, District- North 24 Parganas, West Bengal and Kajal Mollah (32), R/o- Dum Dum.

Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being caught. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, innocent people of them are handed over to each other.
