Air Marshal DK Patnaik, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command visited Air Force Station Bagdogra, a premier airbase in West Bengal on 11 Jul 2022. The dignitary was received by Air Commodore Amiya Tripathy, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Bagdogra.
The Air Marshal was presented with a Guard of Honour on arrival. He visited various lodger units and was briefed on the operational, maintenance and administrative preparedness of the Station. During the visit, the Air Marshal also inspected vital installations and was briefed about the progress of various operational infrastructure in the Station. During his interaction with personnel, he emphasised on the need to be focused and vigilant owing to the strategic location of the Station, especially in the present geo-political scenario. He appreciated the role played by the Station personnel vis-â-vis the National security.
During the visit, the Air Marshal also visited the nearby Air Force Station Butabari and Kurseong and was briefed about the upcoming major projects of the Station. He reviewed the operational preparedness and appreciated the IAF personnel on the good work undertaken by them at the Station.
