A just Transition Research Centre Department of humanities and Social Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur arrived at Margherita on 11th July where till 19th July they shall remain for research work.
The team comprises of Suprio Basu deputy project Manager, Jayanta Taraffar Assistant Project manager, Rima Ghosh Assistant project manager, Satwik Chaturvedi Assistant project manager, Jhumur Dey Senior project Associate and Manisha Drall Project Associate all came from Just Transition Research Centre, Department of humanities and Social Science IIT, Kanpur.
The research team shall visit two hundred households in near by villages of Coal mines area of NEC Coal India ltd Margherita.
The research will serve as an academic and policy purposes to ensure Justice during the transition said Suprio Basu Deputy Project manager.
The research team shall also meet Business community, Trade Union, Educated youth, Village Panchayat,Civil societies and Government official in this 9 days research work said Suprio Basu.
Rashtriya Coal Mazdoor Union affiliated to CITU felicitated all the research team with an Assamese Traditional phoolam Gamosha during their arrival at Margherita.
