According to the statement, the incident took place on the morning of July 17, 2022, at around 0800 hrs, in the area of Border Out Post Farzipara, 141 Battalion. On the basis of specific information from the Anti Human Trafficking Unit, the on duty troops apprehended a girl who was trying to cross the international Boundary from Bangladesh to india. The girl was identified as Mukta Mandal (18) (Name Changed), District- Murshidabad.
Girl has also become a victim of human trafficking, Released on the condition of bringing girls from the International Border area for prostitution.
On interrogation, Mukta Mandal (Name changed) confesses that she is involved in human trafficking and has herself been a victim of human trafficking. She revealed that about 11 months ago she came in contact with a Bangladeshi woman who lives in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. She had also lived with him in Delhi for some time in search of work. But she forced the woman to indulge in prostitution. The girl also revealed that the Bangladeshi woman sent her home on the condition of bringing 2-3 girls from the border area for prostitution.
The apprehended girl has been handed over to the Concerned Police Station for further legal proceedings.
People involved in human trafficking will not be spared, DIG
South Bengal Frontier Public Relations Officer and DIG Amrish Kumar Arya stated that human trafficking is a very heinous act. Human traffickers are playing with the life of women. Officer Instructing the people not to commit such heinous acts and stated that our jawans are capable of stopping any kind of smuggling. He further stated in strong words that his jawans would not allow any kind of smuggling or any other kind of crime on the border area under any circumstances and the persons involved in it would not be spared.
