On July 21, 2022, on specific news, the troops of Border Out Post Gongra, 82 Battalion Border Security Force apprehended a person. Total Bangladeshi Taka 37,24,500/- was seized from the possession of apprehended person. Whose total value in Indian currency is Rs 31,52,714/-. The apprehended person has been identified as Abhirul Molla, age 34 years, S/o- Ishaq Molla, village- Gongra, district- Nadia, West Bengal.
The apprrehended man admitted that he has been carrying out cross-border smuggling in association with a smuggler for the last three months. He further revealed that even today at his behest, he brought this consighnment from Ranabandh village. For this he got 500 rupees.
The apprrehended person was handed over to the Police Station Chapra along with the seized Bangladeshi Taka.
Sanjay Prasad Singh, Commanding Officer of the 82 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force along the Indo-Bangladesh border, while discharging their duties with promptness, are constantly making efforts to stop smuggling. He stated that continuous action is being taken against those involved in crimes like smuggling. In which those apprehended are being punished according to the law.
