The incident occurred at around 10 am on July 23, 2022, in Shikarpur village under the BSF’s 86 Battalion, when a 16-year-old minor girl attempted suicide by consuming poison. As soon as the girl’s parents sought help from the company commander of Border Out Post Shikarpur, they immediately sent the nursing assistant along with the BSF ambulance to the girl’s house. The jawans along with the relatives admitted the girl to the nearest hospital Karimpur by BSF ambulance. Where the condition of the girl is now said to be fine.
The girl’s family expressed their gratitude to the BSF and told that if the troops had not helped by reaching at the right time, then there could have been a big accident. All the villagers said that BSF is no less than an angel in their area.
